A wonderful book. Jimmy's voice was completely engaging and original. The manner in which Jimmy formed connections was odd and lovely. It painted a sad and touching picture of the effects of social disadvantage, domestic violence and living with a disability.
Jimmy's slow and circuitous acceptance of his loss and his forging of new bonds was both torturous and gorgeous. I really enjoyed his bond with Ned the dog. Ultimately, Jimmy's greatest loss was also his greatest opportunity to blossom and move more fully into the world.
A magnificent read. I would implore everyone to not shy away from the subject matter and to not be squeamish because the rewards of sticking with the story are an engrossing read and getting to know the fantastic world of Jimmy.
